Meet Sophie McGonagall

As a seasoned drama teacher, Sophie's educational expertise is woven into every aspect of our program. While she's still waiting for her letter from Hogwarts (aren't we all?), that hasn't stopped her wizardry! She has dazzled Aussie schools with Bell Shakespeare Company, tamed animatronic T-rex’s with Erth's Dinosaur Zoo, and even led the legendary Magical Tour for Muggles in London! Can you imagine the stories she has up her sleeve? Sophie is always available for any questions you may have about Wattlebrush. Just send an email to hell@wattlebrush.com.au.

Headmistress at Wattlebrush

And here’s some Wattlebrush FAQs

  • Nope, not at all. Wattlebrush is a great introduction to the wizarding world. Why not take this opportunity for your family to get to know the first 3 adventures. You can watch the films or start the books together!

  • Our activities are based on the first three Harry Potter books, so we encourage the same age range as Hogwarts students: between 10-and 13 years old. If your kids are outside the age range but love Harry Potter, give us a call. We can chat about whether our program might still be a magical fit for them!

  • It's $550 for the entire week of enchanting activities. That's five full days, each packed with 7 hours of immersive fun and learning! Everyone joining us receives a personal notebook and a ticket to the end-of-week Yule Ball.

  • At Wattlebrush, we believe in deep discovery and real conversations. Our maximum group size is 15 enchanters, but depending on individual needs, we may cap it at 10. We want everyone to have the best experience possible!

  • Absolutely! Families and referrals receive a $50 discount per student joining us.

  • We don't offer care after hours, but there's always someone onsite from 8am to 4pm. Our club hours are 8:30am to 3:30pm, with activities kicking off officially at 9am.

  • Friendship is one of our core values at Wattlebrush, so we aim to build a connection in a week-long camp. Get in touch if you would like to try Wattlebrush for a one-off day to start out! We run similar activities each week so at the moment these are one off camps but we look forward to making a community of returning Wiz-kids in the future.

  • Just bring your unconditional goodwill for those around you, food for the day (fridges are provided), a spirit of curiosity, sun protection, and hydration. We'll provide a full guide with all the club details before we kick off the magic!

  • We'll send a comprehensive starter form to gather your child's comfort and safety requirements. For accessibility, students need to be able to climb the cub den stairs with or without assistance. Many activities take place outdoors, so sun protection and weather-appropriate clothing are essential each day. We ensure all certifications, such as insurance, blue cards, and first aid, are current.
